All contestants must present a prepared speech, the topic being chosen from the following list:

For all local area heats, Regional finals and South Queensland final:

• JUNIOR (Note: There is no Own Choice topic permitted) 
• To be advised.
  
• SENIOR (Note: There is no Own Choice topic permitted)
• To be advised.
  

Short Notice speeches, required for the State and National finals and for the level preceding the state final, will be advised to each competitor 15 minutes before delivery.
